About Me
My name is Catherine Rasberry. I have always enjoyed both music and children. As soon as I was allowed, I was an excited sixth grader when I became the youngest member of the adult choir at my church. For the past two years, I have been working with both the preschool and elementary children’s choirs at my church. This has allowed me to gain valuable experience and express my musical talents and skills.

Cary First Baptist Church Preschool
Worked at Cary First Baptist Church Preschool as a music and substitute teacher. I taught music on Mondays - Tuesdays, on Wednesdays, substitute in the 18-month – two-year-old classroom, and substitute in other classrooms when needed. The Preschool has 18 months through TK classes.

Internship at Winter Park Elementary, Wilmington, NC
Performed several responsibilities. Some of these included classroom management, teaching and making lesson plans for K – 5th music, two musicals (Bugs the Musical with 2nd grade and Hundred and One Dalmatians with 4th and 5th grades), teaching a small group of about 4 of 5 students math and reading, bus duty and carpool duty, cafeteria duty, and morning duties (I was stationed in the cafeteria to monitor the students as they came in off the bus and carpool to grab their free breakfast in the morning and head off to the classrooms).

Digital Maker Space (DMS) Job, UNCW Randal Library
Worked in the DMS on UNCW’s campus. In the DMS, we rent out GoPros, green screens, and the recording studio. We also do virtual reality and 3D printing.
2010 – 2024
West Regional Library
Volunteer at the West Regional Library. I would shelve books and check books in and out at the library. I have helped out with the children’s programs.

Good Hope Baptist Church

Volunteered for VBS for 10 years. I started helping out in one of the classes for one year. Then I helped out with the craft sinter. I have been doing VBS music for the last 8 years (plus this year).

2011 – 2012
Happiness Retreat, Baptist Men’s
Volunteered with the Happiness Retreat. The Happiness Retreat deals with people who are about 40 and up and have a whole range of different disabilities. I worked in the classroom, ran the games, did the bible study (VBS), and taught the music and the motions.
